American Power Conversions (APCC) Use PowerDNN's PowerGrid Global Cloud Infrastructure for Global Company Communications
Omaha, Nebraska, September 1, 2009 -- American Power Conversion by Schneider Electric (EPA:SU), the world leader in critical power and cooling solutions, announced that PowerDNN, a one-source provider of highly scalable, mission critical DotNetNuke solutions, has completed an internal PowerGrid Global Cloud deployment which will allow parent company Schneider Electric to unify intra-company communications. PowerDNN's PowerGrid Global Cloud infrastructure gives American Power Conversion the ability to seamlessly expand their DotNetNuke infrastructure and accommodate intense load requirements of an international corporation with geographically diverse business units.
John C., a IT Enterprise Operations Manager for American Power Conversion said "With business units across the world, we needed a solution that would allow us to seamlessly scale to accommodate international demand. After reviewing a number of solutions from multiple vendors, PowerDNN's PowerCache Synchronization Provider and PowerGrid Global Cloud technologies were the clear choice due to their ability to quickly scale to meet our heaviest workloads. Our internal PowerGrid Global Cloud is very easy for our internal IT team to manage and PowerDNN took the time to consult and understand what we were trying to achieve and delivered valuable insight, shared experiences and true benefits for our business units."
PowerGrid 2.0 allows PowerDNN to provide affordable private cloud based solutions for corporations with large DotNetNuke deployments requiring dynamic scalability to meet intense workloads. PowerGrid 2.0 offers an easy to use interface giving customers the ability to manage their own private cloud or let PowerDNN handle the entire process. In the current economic environment, clients are seeking high value and immediate return on any change in technology services.
Ryan K, the APC Systems Engineer assigned to the project said, "Before working with PowerDNN, we tried to scale our DotNetNuke application using the standard DotNetNuke webfarm configuration - it worked, mostly, but the performance could not keep up with our demand. With PowerDNN's PowerGrid Global Cloud infrastructure for DotNetNuke, we get the performance, scalability, and security that we need in order to effectively utilize our DotNetNuke application on an international scale under heavy load."
Tony Valenti, CTO of PowerDNN, added "With their former infrastructure, the client was not achieving an acceptable service level, but with our private cloud configuration, they are now able to service over 30 business units in over 100 countries with over 100,000 users. PowerGrid can scale up and down as demand requires. There is no single point of failure."
